Seal Line E-Case Review
Hurricane Irene is barreling down on the Chesapeake Bay. We are experiencing severe rain, wind and thunderstorm. I figured I'd take this opportunity to test out some gear. So, I stuffed my iPhone4 in the new E-Case by Seal Line and set outside for about an hour to do some field testing.
It is made of PVC Free waterproof material. The urethane window is clear even when wet and I can read texts in my phone well. The window is touch screen compatible which allows me to talk, listen and use full function of my iPhone without having to take the phone out of the case.
The size small E-Case has an outside dimensions of 4x6 inches and and inside dimension of 3.5x5.5 inches. My iPhone fits snug in this case. It is a little tough to get the phone in, but once it is in it looks at home. There is also enough room to fit a credit card and some bills. The case and contents lay flat which can easily be stowed in a PFD without being to bulky.
The closures looks like a zip lock on steroids. Seal Line claims that it will withstand one meter of submersion for up to 30 minutes. I'll take their word for it since I am not going to dunk my phone in a bucket and risk ruining my it on a field test. Sorry folks. But I did set it outside during a hurricane for about an hour and the case held up. My phone stayed dry and operational. The touch screen compatibility works in wet conditions. Overall, I feel confident to take my iPhone out in the water with the E-Case. I am happy with this gear and would recommend it to friends.
Pros: Good size, Touch screen compatible, Submersible
Cons: None
